An earthquake of 5.8 magnitude has struck Islamabad and its suburban in afternoon, sending ripples of panic through the residents.
The National Seismic Monitoring Centre in Islamabad recorded the tremors precisely at 3:19 pm, registering a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale, with a seismic depth of 140 kilo metres.
The epic entre of this natural event was pinpointed to be in the Doda District of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
The seismic reverberations extended their reach to various regions across the country, with places like Samahni and Bhimbhar in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Peshawar feeling the unsettling tremors.
Despite the disquieting nature of the seismic activity, there have been no immediate reports of casualties or damages in the aftermath of the quake.
Reflecting on personal experience during the earthquake, one of the users on X formerly Twitter wrote that he was busy in office work when he felt the desk table before him was shaking but at the same time his colleague in the same building did not even know that the earthquake is happened.
